Bio

Edda Petursdottir is an fashion and beauty photographer, born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland.

She started her own modeling career at age 14 when she entered the Supermodel of the World, Ford modeling contest in her hometown and hit first place.

She has traveled around the world as a model for years living in places such as London, Paris, Milano,Tokyo. In 2003 she moved to NYC and instantly knew this is where she belonged. She worked as a model for various companies/magazine such as Jcrew, Amazon, Saks 5th avenue, Gap, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, V magazine, Italian Vanity Fair, Interview magazine and walked the runways for Diana von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Rente to name a few. 

Beside modeling she is a certified Yoga Instructor with over 20 years of yoga practice. In 2014 she partnered with the sustainable Yoga clothing Brand VYAYAMA, as Brand Partner for over 3 years where they sold at places such as Selfridges in London and Barneys in NYC. 

In 2018 she moved to Berlin to start her studies at Neue Schule für Fotografie and later did a semester at BTK university. Now she works as a full time freelance photographer. 

Expertise

Her work focuses on capturing a moment in time, whether it's portraiture, lifestyle imagery, or just the perfect light. She loves brand development and is very hands on when it comes to working with art direction and such. 

Always experimenting with new techniques,  she is equally comfortable with analog and digital technologies, and uses both according to the needs of the project.
